Orla Kiely.

Hiya mi lovelies, autumn is here, and therefore the fact of being in bed on a Sunday morning drinking a warm tea, some Peppa Pig cookies and a cloudy sky with drops of rain outside the window is a luxury.

Today, I want to speak about a designer I discovered when I was watching some of the shows online from the last London Fashion Week: Orla Kiely. I guess that some of you already know her, she's an Irish designer who lives in London, studied at the Royal College of Art, began designing hats and well, you see, after that she started to create her own business.

Her designs are characterized by patterns with a sixties and colorful touch. In my opinion, they are very sweet and I could say "childish" (similar to the style of Jess from New Girl). The truth is that I think they are super pretty and it's not impossible to wear them. I mean, there are a lot of designers who present collections which have clothes that are more difficult to wear casually.
The new SS15 collection is very upbeat, with pastel colours (pink, yellow, blue...) combined with darker tones like black or dark gray, and also introduces some clothes in military green. All these colours mixed with very sixties prints and lovely bags, especially the big one with a sky blue colour which the girl with the flower shirt is wearing.

But I think my favorite one is the pre-collection which emphasizes the pale pink, electric blue, and gray with black. Aww, it’s so beautiful! Besides the pair of shoes the model is wearing, I think they're incredible and combine perfectly with all the outfits.

Well, I hope this designer interests you enough to visit her site: www.orlakiely.com; because, the truth is, it’s worth checking out, and also the clothes from this season are super adorable, with cat prints, beautiful skirts and with some great bags. I think Orla Kiely can be a great inspiration for everyday looks. That being said, I’ll now continue relaxing on my bed blaring Bob Marley. And I say goodbye with a photo of the AW12/13 collection which I like a lot.

Physics, Micah P. Hinson and a galactic clutch.

Hiya my lovelies, I'm at that point in my life where I've started classes at University, and, at the same time, I've started playing Sims 3 so, I’m quite obsessed with it. Yes, it’s serious, very serious, but hey, there I go. Today was my first day of classes, and the truth is that sleep runs through my veins, along with hunger, nervousness, more sleep, especially with a lot of maths (for those who don't know, I’m doing Physics, and then I’ll study the astrophysics part). Luckily, I have signed up for a Cosmology course and an astro-observation one too, so I'm happy.

Well, in this post I wanted to show an outfit I wore the other day for an informal family meal. The light that day was a little... not bad, but "complicated" (if light can be complicated). So, it’s difficult to see, but the skirt I was wearing has a tartan pattern with a green and blue tone (Zara), plus I have an almost transparent black blouse (ooh là là) that covered above (because if I tucked it inside the skirt I looked like a secretary or something); on my feet I wore cut-out ankle boots (or whatever they're called) from Topshop, with a transparent clutch bag (Zara) that I personally love. It's very galactic. The truth is that I’m not feeling like talking about my clothes and, anyway, I think you have enough with all the photos.

Y ahora, ahora viene lo importante, ¡chan chan chan! Vale, suficiente.

And now, here comes the important thing! tchan tchan tchan! Okay, enough. This is a message for those who want to improve their understanding of English, especially when listening. Personally, I think it's a great blog for all English levels with texts (tales, articles, etc.) that are really useful not just to practice your understanding, but also to learn new vocabulary. To visit it you can click here or on the picture of the turtle in the right margin on my blog. Right now, it doesn't have many things because it was only created a few days ago, but I think that if we help it a little to make it grow it will be a fantastic site for learning. Also, you can ask your questions and send your doubts to the email address on the page.

(Well, let's stop spamming for a while) The truth is that my brain has a thousand ideas but I don’t know how to write about them right now. And because of this awful inspiration (and also because my foot has gone to sleep) I say goodbye while telling you to check out a singer I personally love (and makes me cry a lot) who also seems to have a book, which I strongly desire (in fact I’ve just ordered it on internet), called "No voy a salir de aquí" from 2010. Ok, I'm forgetting the essential part: he's called Micah P. Hinson. Really, lie down in bed and listen to him and aww.

And that’s all for today, now it’s time to see the new episode of New Girl.

Jelly shoes, the 2:00 a.m., Albert Camus and almonds.

Hiya my lovelies! People say the best things are said at two in the morning, or the best decisions, or I don’t know exactly what they say; I don’t know if it's true or where I read it, I don’t know why I'm starting my post by saying this, or anything, but yeah, it's 2:01 am.
This post is as simple as the outfit I come to show you: a pair of mom jeans (Pull & Bear), a white blouse tops (Mango), a belt (nowhere) and a pendant necklace (somewhere). But what is important, what really matters here, is that pink stuff I’m wearing on my feet, my dear jelly shoes from the classic British brand JuJu.

Yes sirs, jellies shoes are one of the best things that are in since last summer, and people just love it or hate it. But anyway, it appears that the nineties’ stuff are coming back and this is something we can see easily, until we’ll reach the point where we will be wearing tacky clothes and singing out loud songs of the Spice Girls or Backstreet boys (or not).

It seems that two o'clock tonight are being a disaster for my inspiration and I think that my brain is trying to seduce me to go read "The Stranger" by Albert Camus, although I've not yet read it I can say that the first page is absolutely great and you should buy it, read it and go into that stage of nihilism accompanied by almonds (or whatever you eat when you read a book at two in the morning).

September nights: a little haul (and Short Term 12).

Hiya my lovelies! September has come, well, it arrived ten days ago, but I have a complex with posting late or something like that. Last week, I spent five days in Madrid to disconnect from Granada, and, well, in this post I wanted to show you some things I bought (along with others from Primark in Malaga). The truth is that what I actually bought the most were books because TCHANTCHANTCHAAAN in Madrid, there's one of my favourite bookshops: La Central, and I just love it (I think it's the wooden floor they have).

First, we have this wonderful, lovely, adorable, tiny black & white handbag with gold metal details. It’s from Primark and it was only 11€! It's so nice that I can’t stop looking at it, and it's useful both to wear as a casual look and to go out and... awwww it's so askdasjeakse. In Primark I also bought some Mary Jane heels. I've seen this style a lot this summer at stores like Topshop or Zara, but I didn't want to spend too much money because I knew that I don’t wear these kind of shoes so much. But I saw these in Primark for €18 (it says Limited Edition on the label) and, when I tried them on, I discovered how comfy they were and thought that they could give a different touch to some party outfit, so I couldn't resist.

Then, in Madrid, in Brandy Melville, I had to stop myself from buying too many things. I bought two little dresses, let me show you one. It's just so nice with a "naif" touch, very cool for the summer heat and ideal for autumn if you wear it with a long cardigan or something. It's extremely comfy and has a very sweet touch. In Topshop, I found these closed sandals. They were on sale so they just cost €15. The truth is that they look like a primary school teacher, but look great with everything. The only bad thing is that my feet aren''t used to wearing these kind of shoes and it causes a few scratches. I have to put a cream on them or something to soften.

Moving away from all the haul stuff, I wanted to tell you about a movie I watched in the cinema when I was in Madrid. I was wandering alone and didn’t know what to do, so I found this by chance. It's called "Short term 12" and is directed by Destin Cretton. At first I thought it was going to be a drama with a usual plot about a marginal center or something, but I don't know. The film has something which made it simply pretty (or I was just sensitive that day). The dramatic tone of this kind of film can be very dull, but this one has an honest touch, simple (but not crappy), natural, somehow touching, but not melodramatic. Each character (not just the main character) gives you "something". I totally recommend it! Also, it has a beautiful soundtrack (listen here!). That’s all for today.

P.S.: Pictures that aren't gifs are from the film.
P.S.2: Please, take me to the London Fashion Week.
